  Check out H builders of leicester (syston) Well known to trading standards for unfinished projects. We are pensioners & got conned.

    Thanks for the warning, it really annoys me when I hear stories of builders vanishing whilst not finishing projects, I hope you got your work completed in the end but I am sure it caused you all sorts of anxiety.

  I'm a divorced, OAP with Fibromyalgia, trying to get home finished for parents (101 and 91) to come. Builder disappeared owing me money, six and a half thousand pounds worth of outstanding work to do (mostly for Building control completion) I've had to have medical treatment twice for smoke inhalation and had to evacuate house twice due to carbon monoxide build up (solid fuel Rayburn not installed correctly) Huge holes left in walls and roof, scaffolding boards falling down, sloping floors with holes, shuttering grade ply used for eaves walls etc etc. He even refused to let me have my furniture back he'd been storing in an empty property belonging to his girlfriend until I gave him an extra four and a half thousand until my solicitor sorted it out. I'm sure that's enough for the moment. My uncompleted home is in Brandy Cove, Gower, S. Wales. My name is Chris Timms (Mrs.)

  Lee 02/03/09. For twelve years I have had over 220 separate incidenses of raw sewage in my home, sometimes up to 17inches deep. I am now unable to work because I was diagnoised with M.E. and fibromyalgia, and an underactive Thyroid. My partner has also been told he has an underactive thyroid. The water authority responsible for this nightmare refuse to admit responsibility. I am left with a house that is worthless and cannot sell and a huge mortgage still to pay and the constant fear of when It will happen again. I have fought to get justice but there is no one brave enough to take on the mighty power of this water company. The illnesses we both suffer are a direct result of living for so long in a toxic enviroment. I have tried every single thing I can think of to get out of this horror story I'm living in! HELP.

  Hi
  Back in December 2004 we bought a off plan property in the Marbella Hills in Malaga.We paid a deposit of £35,000.00 and was told it would be ready in 18 months to 2 years.
  Eighteen months later after numerous phone calls to the company"Palmera Properties, we went back over to Spain to see if the building had started.
  To cut a long story short, the developer Mr jesus Gortardo Rodriguez never had planning permission and could not get it because the plot was never big enough for the project.
  We requested our money back but he said it had been paid to the builder.
  Consequently, we have ended up contacting a Spanish Lawyer, the company "Palmera Properties" have now ceased trading.We went over to Spain in March and had a court appearance to confirm that we wanted our solicitor to act on our behalf.
  The only good thing that seems to be in our favour is when the lawyer checked him out, he does actually own the land in the Marbella Hills so we are hoping to put a claim on the land.It has taken us 5 years to get to this point and i really can't see us ever getting our money back.
